Full-Time in Lowell, MA
NEIWPCC is seeking a team-oriented, committed, and personable Information Officer to provide administrative and event support to our headquarters office.
What You’ll Do
- Work with other Business Operations staff to provide support to assigned Business and Programmatic Divisions within NEIWPCC.
- Assist with meeting and conference planning, including venue research, attendee and exhibitor correspondence, booking travel arrangements, event set-up and onsite registration, attendee travel reimbursements, and reporting.

Business Operations Intern
Internship in Lowell, MA
Join NEIWPCC this summer and support clean water initiatives throughout the region! We are seeking an intern to assist our Business Operations Division with administrative functions at our headquarters office. This intern will gain experience in a variety of business management processes and procedures that ensure smooth operations of our office and support our environmental efforts throughout the Northeast.
You will:
- Support office sustainability efforts by researching new initiatives, analyzing current purchasing practices, and restoring NEIWPCC’s “Eco-Office Bulletin” newsletter
- Assist in the administration of the Wastewater Training and Certification Programs through the coordination of bulk mailings and data entry
- Perform various office support tasks, sorting and sending mail, scanning documents, supporting in-office and external events, organizing common office areas, and formatting digital files in Microsoft Office Suite.
The successful candidate will have a passion and interest in preserving and advancing water quality. Environmental Analyst – Title 5 Septic System Program Trainer
Full-Time in Massachusetts
NEIWPCC is seeking two full-time Environmental Analysts to design and host Title 5 trainings for municipal health officials across the state. The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Program (DEP) Title 5 regulation governs the construction and maintenance of septic systems and the transport of septic-system waste.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate and participate in meetings with local boards, commissions and public health departments to assist with interpreting regulations, policies and guidance.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to develop and deliver regular training, including in-person workshops, live virtual sessions, and self-paced online modules.
- Respond to requests for information from local public health officials and provide training and technical assistance as needed on Title 5 and other related rules and regulations.
- Work closely with partners to align on training infrastructure, local public health training needs and priorities, communications, and other topics as needed.
Preferred Qualifications

Emerging Water Professional Internship Program
Internship in Nashua, NH
Gain valuable skills to start a career as a wastewater operator! We’re seeking two summer interns to join the Emerging Water Professional Internship Program and receive hands-on training at the Nashua Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF). There is a growing shortage of wastewater professionals in New Hampshire. Through this program, NEIWPCC aims to bridge the workforce gap and keep waterways clean by providing a direct pipeline to employment in the industry.
In this role, interns will:
- Assist Nashua WWTF staff with plant operations, including aiding in maintenance, completing routine checklists, and collecting water samples.
- Shadow a variety of plant technicians to gain a comprehensive work-based learning experience.
- Engage with NEIWPCC trainers in preparation to successfully take New Hampshire’s Grade 1 Operator License exam.
Successful candidates will have an interest in preserving and advancing water quality, and:
- Be well-organized, be capable of following oral and written instructions, and be effective communicators.

Seeking an experienced construction project manager to lead and oversee project activities associated with an administrative consent order aimed at addressing combined sewer overflows (CSOs) within the New York City watershed. This dynamic position will coordinate with industry professionals to help safeguard public health and make a meaningful impact protecting the environment.
What You’ll Do
- Provide high-level program management of all obligations under the CSO Consent Order, identify potential problems with implementation and facilitate timely resolution by coordinating with internal and external partners.

Job Duties:
- Work with the LCBP Steering Committee to develop and implement innovate education programs for diverse audiences including youth, educators, landowners, and community members.
- Serves as coordinator and project officer for LCBP Education and Outreach grants by reviewing proposals, developing workplans, tracking ongoing contract work and facilitating final review of projects.

Lake Champlain Education and Outreach Steward
Summer Internship in Grand Isle and Burlington, Vermont
We are seeking one or two creative and enthusiastic stewards to assist with education and outreach activities with the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) during the summer of 2025.
Stewards will:
- Be an educational resource to children and adults within the Resource Room with the goal of helping the public better understand Lake Champlain and the opportunities for community involvement.
- Expand outreach programming to state parks, summer camps, lake and river events, upper reaches of the watershed and downtown locations to answer questions about Lake Champlain and offer opportunities for citizen action.
- Discuss a variety of watershed concerns with the public and provide resources for getting involved or changing behavior to benefit the watershed.
Successful candidates will be reliable, punctual, and should have solid communication skills and attention to detail. Completion of at least two years of college preferred. Coursework or demonstrated interest in Lake Champlain and watershed issues covered in LCBP’s 2024 State of the Lake report is desired. The ability to interact positively with the public at outreach events is needed.
Hourly pay range is anticipated to be $17-20, dependent on experience and qualifications. Aquatic Invasive Species Boat Launch Stewards
Seasonal positions at select boat launches around Lake Champlain, NY and VT
Spend your summer by the lake! Join the efforts of NEIWPCC and the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) to prevent the spread of harmful and destructive invasive species, working to ensure a healthy and clean environment for wildlife and recreationalists. We’re seeking multiple seasonal boat launch stewards to deliver interpretive invasive species spread prevention messages to boaters on Lake Champlain during the summer of 2025 and to inspect and decontaminate watercraft.
As a boat launch steward, you will be trained to:
- Greet visitors to Lake Champlain and share aquatic invasive species information.
- Record lake-user information on mobile tablets.
- Collect and identify aquatic organisms.
- Inspect watercraft, trailers, and recreational equipment for aquatic organisms.
- Conduct hot water high pressure decontaminations as needed.
Successful candidates will be organized, have excellent public communication skills, have experience with data collection, and have familiarity with invasive species. Candidates must be comfortable working in outdoor settings in various weather conditions and have the physical capability to inspect watercraft. Basic familiarity with boaters, anglers, and recreational equipment will be useful. Experience with small engine maintenance and repair is a plus.
