Long Island Garden Rewards Program Reimbursement Form

The program is first come, first served and reimbursements are pending program funding.

Due to the high participation in the program, as of May 20, 2025 the Long Island Garden Rewards Program is closed.

Application Tips

Review the eligible native plant list before purchasing plants.
Receipts and photos are required for reimbursement.

Photos of native plants with the plant identification card is suggested.
Seeds are not eligible.

Reimbursement Materials

To be fully reimbursed for your rain barrel, rain garden or native plant garden you need to upload a picture of the installed item along with a copy of any associated receipts. Native plants and rain gardens are considered installed when they are in the ground, on the property. Rain Barrels are considered installed when they are connected to a downspout or other rainwater diversion device. You can apply for an individual project or combination of projects. However, the total reimbursement is not to exceed $500 per site. Materials must be purchased after March 15, 2025. Reimbursement is subject to available funding. Rain Garden

Does your rain garden have a shallow depression that will pool and collect water? If not, is your rain garden located at the bottom of a natural slope/downgradient on your property?

If you selected no, your rain garden does not meet program requirements. You may resubmit the application for native plants.

Reimbursement Amount Requested(Required)

Rain Barrel: $125 per rain barrel with a maximum of $500. Rain Garden: maximum of $500 for mulch, gravel, soil amendments, and native plants only. Native Plants: maximum of $500 for native plants listed on the eligible plant list. Annuals not eligible for reimbursement. There is a total maximum reimbursement of $500 for all three eligible practices.

By checking the box below I certify that I have followed the requirements laid out for the Long Island Garden Rewards Program.

I certify that this reimbursement is not to replace previously funded rain barrels, rain garden materials, or native plants. I also certify that I have not received funding for these materials through other federal, state or municipally funded programs. I certify that materials were purchased after March 15, 2025. I hereby authorize that photos provided with this form may be used by NEIWPCC, LINAP, LIS Partnership, LIRPC and/or NYSDEC for promotional materials related to this program. I authorize a yard sign to be placed in my yard highlighting my participation in the program and will keep it for the remainder of the growing season.
