In partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Underground Storage Tanks, NEIWPCC is developing a new training resource for Underground Storage Tank Operators in Indian Country. Hosted on NEIWPCC’s learning management system, you’ll soon be able to access a free, self-paced, online operator training and certification program for Class A and Class B Operators.

Designated UST operators will learn what is needed to demonstrate knowledge about UST systems including:

  • UST basics
  • UST operator classes
  • Preventing releases
  • Detecting releases
  • Walkthrough inspections
  • Reporting and recordkeeping requirements

Stay tuned for more information! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to James Plummer (jplummer@neiwpcc.org).

NEIWPCC, under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Cooperative Agreement number 83950601, and in coordination with EPA, provides this no-cost, accessible self-paced training to help designated operators in Indian country meet the operator training requirement. EPA provided comments and suggestions on the training to improve the technical accuracy. The training will meet the requirements of the 2015 federal UST regulation, 40 CFR Part 280 Subpart J.
