Training and Supporting Massachusetts Environmental Professionals
NEIWPCC coordinates Massachusetts wastewater operator training, certification exams, and renewals. Classes associated with the Massachusetts operator training program and with certification exam preparation are included in NEIWPCC’s regional training catalog. NEIWPCC also maintains a list of licensed Massachusetts wastewater treatment plant operators.
This program began in 2005 and is managed by NEIWPCC on behalf of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and the Board of Wastewater Operator Certification.
Others involved with Massachusetts wastewater certification and/or training include the New England Water Environment Association, Massachusetts Water Environment Association, Mass Rural Water Association, U.S. EPA New England, Upper Blackstone Clean Water. Representatives of these organizations constitute a Training Advisory Committee (TAC) that steers the direction of the training program.
NEIWPCC similarly trains and certifies soil evaluators and system inspectors for the Commonwealth under Massachusetts Title 5, and co-leads the Massachusetts Wastewater Management Training Program.
