The next webinar in the National 303(d) Restoring Our Impaired Waters Webinar Series will discuss site-specific water quality criteria and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) implementation for phosphorus loading in the Wisconsin River Basin. The event is scheduled for September 23, 1-2:30 p.m. EST via Zoom.
Presenter Kevin Kirsch will describe the development and adoption of local water quality criteria designed for various areas of the watershed, including technical, regulatory, and policy considerations. He will offer insights into effective collaboration with the U.S. EPA and strategies for overcoming scientific uncertainty. The webinar will also highlight related TMDL activities, strategies, analyses and implementation recommendations.
Kirsch is a water resource engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

Since 2016, NEIWPCC, through a grant from the EPA, has hosted a series of informational webinars for state, territorial, and tribal program staff working on TMDLs in impaired waterways under Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act.
Past webinars feature presentations from a diverse array of experts on topics ranging from implementing trash TMDLs to state-tribe communications.
