LUSTLine — the publication of record for the underground storage tank (UST) community — shares resources, research, and stories that cover industry topics such as release prevention, technical and regulatory compliance, and site cleanups. The most recent issue is now available as individual articles and in a PDF format.
Issue #95 contains a profile on Hank Aho, who has been a cartoonist for LUSTLine for more than three decades. The piece explores Aho’s 37-year career in hazardous waste remediation with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and how he found a way to incorporate his childhood passion for drawing into his work. The article also features a collection of Aho’s favorite pieces that he has created throughout the years.
Other topics discussed in this issue include the importance of collaboration between UST and Brownfields Programs; resetting expectations regarding natural source zone depletion rates; and a message from the Environmental Protection Agency on the future of state UST programs.
James Plummer, NEIWPCC’s UST/LUST Program Coordinator, also shares information about the upcoming National Tanks Conference, which he describes as an opportunity for members of the industry to collaborate and share ideas.
