This project will determine the feasibility of commercial bioextraction using seaweed and/or shellfish in the New York and Connecticut sections of the Long Island Sound. Deliverables include recommendations about the most economically viable species and markets (including non-food product uses). The project aims to help inform the development of a local bioextraction industry.

Total funding for this project is capped at $100,000, and the deadline for proposals is October 29, 2021 at 12 p.m.
