NEIWPCC has posted a full list of fall wastewater training courses, featuring a range of introductory to advanced classes for those interested in gaining expertise in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. Running from September through December, the trainings include multi-day courses on municipal and industrial wastewater treatment to prepare operators to take basic-level exams, as well as more specialized single-day classes such as Laboratory Analyses; Advanced Lab – Organic Chemistry; Microscopic Examination of the Activated Sludge Process, and Blueprint Reading for Wastewater Operators.

NEIWPCC offers three training formats to meet the needs of operators preparing for all grades of municipal, industrial, and combined exams. Six in-person courses feature a traditional classroom experience, led by seasoned instructors Don Kennedy, Art Enderle, and Tom Bienkiewicz. Live-virtual courses are facilitated by instructors in real-time over Zoom, and represent the bulk of the course format offerings. Additionally, NEIWPCC offers four online, self-paced courses: Basic Municipal Wastewater Treatment; Wastewater Process, Troubleshooting, and Optimization; Wet Weather Operations; and Wastewater Ethics. These on-demand classes are available year-round.

Running from July to October, the “Reimagining Residuals Webinar Series” continues to spotlight the technologies shaping the future of sludge and biosolids management. Led by researchers and industry experts, each webinar combines a strong technical foundation with real-world insights and provides 1.5 training contact hours (TCHs) for wastewater operators.

Courses are generally approved for wastewater TCHs across the New England states and New York; five courses are also approved for Maine drinking water TCHs.
