NEIWPCC is now inviting abstracts for the 35th Annual Nonpoint Source (NPS) Conference, to be held April 9-10, 2025 in Freeport, Maine. NEIWPCC is coordinating the conference in partnership with its member states and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Abstract submissions are due on December 15. Submissions are invited from NPS managers at the state, federal, and municipal level, as well as from the private sector, watershed organizations, tribes and nations, and academia.
The conference theme is Nonpoint Source Pollution and Clean Water: Perspectives from the Arts, Sciences and Humanities. Abstract submissions that focus on or include aspects of art; communication and social marketing; environmental justice; best management practices with climate co-benefits; using technology to document problems, monitor progress and share results; and community engagement in watershed restoration are encouraged. New this year, presenters can share a success story about waters that are partially or fully restored as detailed in the EPA’s NPS Success Story initiative using only easily interpreted visuals and images. Presentation formats include 30-minute presentations, workshop or panel sessions, and posters or artwork.
The conference is open to all registrants, with registration opening in early 2025. Details about the conference and abstract submission can be found on the event webpage.
