NEIWPCC and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Hudson River Estuary Program invite proposals from environmental engineering firms interested in partnering with high flood-risk Hudson Riverfront municipalities to design a shoreline resiliency project. The proposals will use existing community-supported, conceptual shoreline resiliency plans to make them “shovel ready” for the host municipality to fund and implement. Eligible Hudson River communities include those from the Federal Dam at Troy, New York to the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. The projects must further the goals of the Hudson River Estuary Action Agenda by increasing community readiness to respond to sea-level rise and climate change.
Total funding for this work is $400,000 for up to two proposals, and the submission deadline is April 12. The award(s) is anticipated to be announced in May, and the selected project(s) must be completed by October 15, 2025.
