The following detection times and fall times apply to each sensor:
Detection time = <5 seconds
Fall time = <5 seconds after liquid level is within threshold of sensor
Specificity
Results:
This evaluation determined the sensor's responses to the liquids shown above. Biodiesel blends B6-B20 meeting ASTM D7467 and biodiesel B100 meeting ASTM D6751 would also produce an alarm if the sensor threshold is exceeded. Responses to these fuels were not determined, but would be expected to be very similar to the diesel responses.
Comments:
Alarm is audible and visual. Sensors are reusable.
The 924 (adjustable level sensor) is available in four lengths with a magnetic, cylindrical, stainless steel float on a brass or stainless steel stem.
The 924LS (interstitial sensor/level sensor) has a magnetic, cylindrical, Nitrophyl float, stainless steel shroud, and Teflon coated wires.
The 925 (multi-level sensor) is available with one to five magnetic, cylindrical, stainless steel floats on a brass or stainless steel stem ordered to custom specified lengths and level set points.
The time for a liquid level sensor to alarm will depend on the size and geometry of the area in which it is installed and the rate of leakage into this space. The time to alarm can be calculated by dividing the volume necessary to reach the threshold by the leak rate.
