The 2023 Maine Joint Environmental Training Coordinating Committee (JETCC) North Country Convention will take place in Presque Isle, Maine on April 5-6, returning after a hiatus during the pandemic. The event will offer two days of training for water and wastewater operators, vendor exhibits on the tradeshow floor, and opportunities to network with fellow water professionals.
The program includes a variety of training topics, including a panel discussion about how recent state legislation is impacting biosolids management in Maine, geographic information system (GIS) automation, and SCADA systems. New this year, attendees can participate in a field trip to the Fort Fairfield Utility District to learn about their recent upgrade project. Paired with the field trip is a blueprint reading class, which will reference the blueprints from Fort Fairfield’s project.
After the training sessions are over on the first day, attendees will have the opportunity to mingle with exhibitors during the Meet & Greet reception. The Maine Water Environment Association (MeWEA) Collection Systems Committee will host a cornhole tournament during the reception.
More details are available on the JETCC website. Early bird registration for attendees and exhibitors closes on March 17. Sponsorships are also available.
This event is coordinated by NEIWPCC-JETCC in collaboration with the Maine Water Utilities Association and the Maine Water Environment Association. EJ Prescott is the Diamond level sponsor for the Convention.
