Using the Recovery Potential Screening Tool to Support Planning and Prioritization

The first webinar in the National 303(d) Restoring Our Impaired Waters Webinar Series will focus on the recently enhanced Recovery Potential Screening (RPS) Tool. The event is scheduled for November 30, 2-3:30 p.m. EST via Zoom.

RPS is a comparative assessment for identifying differences among watersheds that inform the likelihood of a successful restoration. This flexible and highly customizable approach can be used to support a wide range of watershed comparisons.

Speakers include Emily Cira from the U.S. EPA, and Andy Somor, associate at The Cadmus Group. They will present on the RPS Tool, a custom-coded Excel-based tool developed by the EPA. Rebecca Jascot and Traci Iott, both from Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, will follow to share their experience using the tool.

Since 2016, NEIWPCC, through a grant from the EPA, has hosted a series of informational webinars for state, territorial, and tribal program staff working on pollution budgets in impaired waterways under Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act.

Past webinars feature presentations from a diverse array of experts on topics ranging from state-tribe communications to temperature TMDLs. All previous webinar recordings are available in our resource library. To propose a topic for a future webinar, submit an abstract here.
