NEIWPCC is now accepting abstracts for the 11th U.S. Symposium on Harmful Algae, to be held Oct. 23-28, 2022 in Albany, New York. NEIWPCC is coordinating the symposium in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the U.S. Geological Survey with support from the U.S. National Office for Harmful Algal Blooms at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
The deadline for submission is May 6, 2022. Presentation formats include panel discussion, speed talk, and oral and poster presentations. We encourage abstracts covering monitoring, mitigation, and control; toxin detection, biosynthesis, pathways, and effects; HABs across the freshwater-marine continuum; and others to support the symposium theme, “Science to Support Solutions from Shore to Shore.” Poster abstracts will continue to be accepted as space permits through July.
The conference is open to all registrants, with registration opening in March. This event brings together national representatives and researchers from academia; state, federal, tribal, and municipal governments; the private sector; and watershed organizations.
Details about the conference and abstract submission can be found on the event webpage.
