Seeking Wetland Engineers for NY Restoration Project

Posted on Wednesday, October 21st, 2020 | Posted in News, Water Quality

NEIWPCC and the Peconic Estuary Partnership (PEP) invite proposals from contractors to complete engineering designs and permitting for a habitat restoration project at Meetinghouse Creek in Riverhead, NY.

The project is anticipated to start on February 1, 2021 and must be competed no later than December 31, 2022.

PEP and the town of Riverhead have identified the Meetinghouse Creek Wetland Construction project as a priority habitat restoration project. The 2019 Conceptual Design for the site recommends the construction of a 1.2 acre wetland to manage stormwater runoff. When completed, the project will manage stormwater flow and stormwater-derived pollutants, improving water quality and wetland plant and wildlife biodiversity.

The current request is for services to develop complete engineering designs based on the conceptual design and to secure all necessary permits so this project is shovel-ready.

This project was originally posted in February 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All applications must be submitted online by December 1, 2020 at noon ET.  For more information, review the Question & Answer document for this RFP or contact Emma Gildesgame.
