NEIWPCC and the Peconic Estuary Partnership (PEP) are now accepting proposals from contractors to complete engineering designs and permitting for a habitat restoration project at Meetinghouse Creek in Riverhead, NY.
The Meetinghouse Creek wetland is a priority habitat restoration project for PEP and the town of Riverhead. In 2019, the Conceptual Design for the site recommended the construction of a 1.2 acre wetland to manage stormwater runoff. When completed, the project will manage stormwater flow and reduce pollution runoff, improving water quality and wetland plant and wildlife biodiversity.
The current request is for services to develop complete engineering designs based on the conceptual design and to secure all necessary permits so this project is shovel-ready. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2020. Please contact Emma Gildesgame with any questions about this project.
